Crossfire, Narrows a point apart at top of WWPL table

Tacoma Narrows made the best of a bad situation by claiming a 1-0 forfeit win over BeSea FC and then playing a squad scrimmage on Saturday June 22.

XF Redmond and Tacoma Narrows FC both notched 1-0 wins through very different circumstances last weekend as the two sides battle for the top spot in the Western Washington Premier League.

Tacoma took a 1-0 forfeit win over BeSea FC after the Bellevue club could not field enough players to play the match. Instead, Narrows played a scrimmage for fans, giving practice time to their guys. Meanwhile Crossfire scored a close 1-0 win over Federal Way FC on Sunday Morning at Marymoor Park.

There was a second forfeit over the weekend. Lacey FC players were stuck in traffic and eventually the Pocket Gophers forfeited a 1-0 result to Issaquah Gunners. The 3 points lift ISC into within 2 points of relegation safety,  but the Gunners have just one match left to play.

In Aberdeen there was drama in a wild 3-3 draw between Grays Harbor Gulls and Kirkland FC. The clubs remained 4th and 5th after the result.

On Saturday night in Lacey the Harbor Force got two late goals to claim a 3-1 win over the Pocket Gophers.

Grays Harbor 3-3 Kirkland FC
Lacey FC 1-3 Harbor Force
Tacoma Narrows 1-0 BeSea FC (forfeit)
XF Redmond 1-0 Federal Way FC
ISC Gunners 1-0 Lacey FC (forfeit)
