The Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) completed its second season in July. The league is working to gain a foothold in communities around the western part of the state. One way to get noticed is to be covered by local press. Grays Harbor Gulls FC lead the way in this area. Snohomish County FC Steelheads made a splash in their first season with print coverage in 2 papers.
Gulls get covered
The Grays Harbor Gulls have networked with their community and it has paid off with coverage since before the team even played a match.
The Gulls’ weekly exploits are reported in The Daily World. Just go to this search page and type in “gulls soccer” to see links to many of the articles.
GraysHarborTalk.com has also featured the Gulls.
What’s more, the Gulls have also been featured on local radio. KXRO has articles, but also audio interviews.
Steelheads in Herald and Outlook
The Snohomish County FC Steelheads scored some important press in 2019. The league champs were featured in a big spread in The Everett Herald. You can check it out here.
The North County Outlook visited The Fish multiple times during the season, including a preview and a recap after the club won the WWPL.
Additionally, the Steelheads got noticed by national lower league soccer news and feature outlet Protagonist Soccer. That site did stories on the birth of the club, their new kits, and team leading defender John Troka.
