The 2021 Western Washington Premier League (WWPL) First Division season is underway and Nido Aguila Club America Seattle and Harbor are leading the way. Both clubs are 2-0-0 with 9 goals scored and none surrendered after two matches.
For Nido it took just one half of play to get rolling. After a 0-0 score line at the break against the Lacey Pocket Gophers in week one, Nido exploded for 4 second half goals and a 4-0 win. They kept up the scoring pace April 10 with 2 in the first and 3 more in the second half of a 5-0 win at Kirkland FC.
Harbor (Gig Harbor) are a surprise, also at 2-0-0 with 9 goals for and none against. They have already matched their entire win total from last season, and are half way to the 4 they won in 2018. A big 6-0 win at Federal Way in week one was followed on April 10 with a 3-0 home victory of the Grays Harbor Gulls.
Defending champions Snohomish County and newcomers Wenatchee follow with wins in their first matches.
Harbor will try to continue their blazing start when they travel to Lacey on April 17 for a 6 PM match at South Sound Stadium.
Nido Aguila will host the Everett Jets of the EPLWA in a friendly on April 17. Then the two early leaders will face off as Harbor is scheduled to visit Nido in a league match on Sunday April 25 at 12 noon at Loyal Heights Field in Seattle.
